Commercial photography · Image production · Brief to final artwork
View the workAgency life taught me that great photography gets lost all the time. Passed between retouchers, designers, and account managers until the shot you took on set barely resembles the thing that ends up in print.
So I stopped handing it over.
Now I work with businesses who want the whole thing done properly — shoot, retouch, design, print-ready artwork. One conversation, one brief, one person who cares about the output from start to finish.
Whether you need a single hero shot or a full production run, the answer to "what happens next?" is always the same person.

My background is unusual for a commercial photographer. I started in graphic design at BBH — one of the world's top ad agencies — and spent years working across some of the biggest brands on the planet: McDonald's, Starbucks, British Airways, Costa, Royal Mail. I've shot food in Dubai for MENA markets, worked with food stylists charging a thousand pounds a day, and managed print runs of 12 million for Pizza Hut menus. I've been officially cleared to shoot for McDonald's, which — if you know their standards — is not a small thing.
Along the way I picked up a Campaign magazine Award for Regional Press Ad of the Decade for the Audi TT launch — a piece I art directed around a NASA partnership and a very good pun (TT-minus, if you're curious). I've also photographed two prime ministers, worked across drone, video, and studio production, and I'm a signee of the Official Secrets Act. The last bit has limited portfolio applications, but it makes for a good opener.
What I learned from all of that is that the best results happen when one person understands the whole chain. The shoot is better when you're thinking about the retouch. The retouch is better when you designed the layout. The layout is better when you shot it with the print spec in mind. That's not how agencies work — too many hands, too many handoffs. But it's how I work.
I'm based in Nottingham and work with independent businesses across the UK who want a proper production partner, not just a photographer for hire.
Studio and location food photography, commercial lifestyle, product and campaign work. I bring the same technical standards to an independent restaurant shoot that I applied to international brand campaigns — natural light, full studio setup, or anything in between.
Retouching, compositing, colour grading and image finishing. I've done this to McDonald's spec and for international print campaigns. Every file I deliver is ready to use — not a first pass that needs someone else's attention.
Menu design, POS, social assets, signage, print management. InDesign, Illustrator, the whole chain. If you need it to look as good on a menu as it does on your phone — and to come back from the printer exactly as intended — I can make that happen.
"Need more than photography? I work with select clients from brief through to final artwork and print. Get in touch and we'll talk through what makes sense for your project."
Whether you need a shoot, a full production run, or just want to know what's possible — drop me a message. I work with a small number of clients at any one time so I'd rather have a proper conversation than send a rate card.
